"I AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE."

The Resurrection is the very heart and soul of Christianity. Without the Resurrection, Christianity collapses. Therefore, to deny the Resurrection is to cease to be Christian. But once you're convinced of the Resurrection, you know this world isn't ultimate. You can let go of those earthly pursuits, stop chasing them, and aspire toward a life on high with God, which is a life of love.
(From Lenten reflections by Fr. Robert Barron)

Out of great love for us, not only did God send his Son to earth to suffer and die, to reestablish the covenant relationship between God and man that had been broken by sin, but He also prepared a place for us at the eternal heavenly banquet.  The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the manifestation of God’s desire to remain with us always.

“In order to leave them a pledge of this love, in order never to depart from his own and to make them sharers in his Passover, He instituted the Eucharist as the memorial of his death and Resurrection, and commanded his apostles to celebrate it until his return. . .”                                                                                                                                   CCC 1337

“The liturgy of the Word and liturgy of the Eucharist together form ‘one single act of worship’; the Eucharistic table set for us is the table both of the Word of God and of the Body of the Lord.”
                                                                                                                                CCC 1346

“Come, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the Lord who made us.  For He is our God, and we are the people He shepherds, the flock He guides.”
