JANUARY home lesson
This month our prayer is to St. Michael the Archangel. As we learn more about the wisdom of Christ who left us the Church to guide us in the way of truth, we realize our need for help to overcome evil in our world. This prayer to the St. Michael who was victorious in the battle with the angels who rebelled against God, is a reminder that God gives us defenders when we need them most. (You can read about the battle between St. Michael and the fallen angels in Revelation 12:7-9).
Our goal this month is to learn this prayer by heart (especially 5th-8th graders) so we can pray it whenever we need help to do the right thing. This SONG will help you with the meaning of the prayer, and the video below by the Petrovic, Weber, and Corona families will help you learn the words. Then click the "Let's Talk" button to discuss this question together.
5th-8th graders: Take this QUIZ and see if you know this prayer by heart now.
Virtue of the month: KINDNESS
“There are not one hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church, but there are millions who hate what they wrongly perceive the Catholic Church to be.” Bishop Sheen
“Be the living expression of God's kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting."
